48 hours of sunshine and good times in Cornwall
At 7pm last Sunday evening, we decided it would be a great idea to make a last minute dash to Cornwall to beat the school holiday crowds and make the most of a sunny forecast and the promise of a little wave. We packed the van somewhat hastily that evening (putting a minor oil leak to the back of our minds) and headed of at 5am the next morning, arriving just in time to put the tent up at our favourite campsite and head straight to the beach.
We headed to Gwithian where a the small but clean waves gave us the perfect opportunity to introduce Benji to surfing and help him catch his first ever wave on Emma’s mini mal, he was stoked, as were we. For the next 48 hours we explored rock pools, surfed a bit more, met up with good friends, ate good food and allowed ourselves to relax, unwind and enjoy the break.
On Wednesday morning, we visited Calum Creasey’s new Onwards Adventure Vehicles studio down in Newlyn, he’s got some really exciting projects and plans, if you’re planning a camper conversion, Calum is the person to contact - you can check out his site here.
We then headed home with salty hair, sun kissed skin, tired but happy. We were home just in time to put Benji to bed and enjoy a beer in the garden, refreshed and grateful for spontaneous mini adventures.
Oh, and the van made it there and back with no major problems but we’re still investigating the oil leak…
