Miscellaneous Adventures

Case Studies

As well as hosting our own workshops, we can also arrange bespoke events, talks and workshops for brands, agencies and organisations looking to inspire others via nature, creativity and adventure.

corporate workshops and events

Utilising our unique blend of outdoor skills and creative know-how we offer a fully bespoke service to corporate clients. Be it a team building event in the woods, demonstrating campfire cooking at a festival or speaking about our journey and experiences with nature, we are well equipped to deliver an engaging, inspiring and authentic outdoor experience for groups of up to 12 people. Our particular focus is helping people to connect with nature, something which we believe is set to become an increasingly important aspect of company culture in the near future as we strive for sustainability and climate change targets. Below are a few of our recent projects, but please contact us to see how we can work together!

Millican Travellers Collective

In October 2017 our workshops travelled to The Lake District as part of a two day event hosted by Millican. Over a the course of wet and windy weekend, we taught woodcarving as an outdoor skill, gave a talk on how travel has influenced our lives and led a guided nature and tree ID walk around the Whinlatter Forest. Read more about our weekend with Millican on our recent blog post here.

Campfire Stories, Holland

For two years running we packed up our woodcarving tools, tent and camping essentials and headed to Amsterdam to attend Campfire Stories, a micro festival in The Netherlands. Set in Roggebotstaete, an hours drive from Amsterdam, the festival is a weekend of inspiring stories set around a central campfire, workshops, yoga and even ice bath training all designed to bring people closer to nature and inspire creativity, giving them the space to unwind, switch off from the digital world and relax. We were invited to tell our story around the campfire and to teach woodcarving and firelighting workshops over the course of the weekend.

Something Good

Hosted by Thread Events, we were honoured to take part in the 'Something Good' design festival in Bristol, The festival aimed to provide creative inspiration through a series of lectures on the Friday and workshops on Saturday. We were there to teach woodcarving in a beautiful space in Colston Yard run by Silkie Lloyd. We taught two, three hour long workshops to guests mainly from creative backgrounds, most of whom had never worked with wood before. Due to the shorter length of the courses, we had prepared an axed out spoon blank for each student and taught them how to turn it into a finished spoon using only a knife and crook knife.

All Conditions Media

Marketing and communications strategy agency All Conditions Media came to us seeking a bespoke workshop for a team day out. ACM provide content and PR services for outdoor adventure and action sports brands and have worked for some of our favourites including Finisterre and Trakke so we jumped at the chance to cook up a special day in the woods. We invented a new workshop titled 'Woodland Basecamp', which included some tree and plant ID and a guided walk to find some useful natural materials; safe and efficient use of axes to split firewood; firelighting methods; building and managing a fire; outdoor cooking and of course we finished with some woodcarving and beers around the campfire.

Another Escape Wilderness

Another Escape is an outdoor lifestyle, creative culture and sustainable living publication that explores the stories of passionate people, alluring landscapes and intriguing ideas. They cover a disparate selection of subject matter all deep-rooted in exploration, creativity, innovation and discovery, and aim to be a source of inspiration for those who seek an active and considered lifestyle by encouraging an optimistic, forward-thinking and responsible mindset. We were delighted to be asked to give a talk about our story and how nature has influenced our journey at their 'Wilderness' event; an informal gathering accompanied by delicious food and natural wines.

Poler x Good Life Festival

For two years running, we were asked by Poler's head of UK operations Hectic Distribution to be part of their stand at The Good Life Festival in Flintshire, Wales. Hired as camp fire cooking demonstrators, axe ambassadors and event photographers we assisted Poler in spreading #campvibes around the festival. Using Poler branded cooking equipment we cooked chilli nachos and fruit compote over the campfire, held a number of axe carving demonstrations throughout the weekend, and organised a slingshot shooting competition for adventurous youngsters.
