Finally, after a week of heavy rain and strong winds the cloud and gloom began to lift around midday on Saturday. Introducing the Vulcan Steel Striker! Until the advent of the self-igniting match, the flint and steel method would of been the most convenient way of lighting fires both in the wilderness and in the hearth at home. Our strikers are beautifully hand forged by skilled blacksmith Alex Pole. Here we show you how to make char cloth to use as tinder to get your fire started.

It's with great excitement that we can announce the launch of our 'Blank Canvas' rucksack made in collaboration with outdoors carry experts, Millican.

Our blank canvas conversation with Millican started over a year ago during the Keswick Mountain Festival. A few months later, we returned to the Lake District and Millican HQ for a weekend of campfires, cave exploration and hiking to help inspire us to develop a bag that best represented what we do here at Miscellaneous Adventures - the results of which we can finally share with you today.

We've been really excited to collaborate with Vicki and Mike of Feist Forest on limited edition range of Cherry Wren Snack Cups. Inspired by the feisty garden bird, a favourite of both ours and Vicki's. The bowls were expertly turned by Mike and the 'tail feather' spoons hand carved by Andrew.
